Your customers are the reason your venture exists. Call them the live wire of your business and you won’t be wrong a bit. However, it is two different things to have a customer and to have a happy and loyal customer. The distinction is very clear and glaring.
If up till now you’re yet to know the important of having loyal customers who are happy with your products and services, then chances are that you have been making a lot of mistakes already.
WHY MAKE YOUR CUSTOMERS HAPPY AND LOYAL?
When a customer is happy with the product or service that your business offers, chances are that such a customer will surely recommend such a product to friends and families. They will run awareness programs to pull in more people into your business. Just because of a great service, they can become marketers overnight.
2. PRICE DON’T MATTER
Once you have built a base of loyal customers, you find yourself protected from unnecessary competition. Even if your competitors lower the price of their goods and services, your loyal customers will still stick to your business. Well, that’s why they are called LOYAL customers.
3. HONEST REVIEWS
Your loyal customers are your fans, fans who believe in your great potential. Because they care, they will constantly help drop reviews that helps your business get better. Once you’re getting better, you have the ability to pull in more customers to your base.
The advantages of having happy and loyal customers are numerous. If you aspire to make it huge in the world of business, then you should make sure that your customers are constantly happy. If they aren’t, they can’t become loyal to what your business has to offer.
HOW TO MAKE YOUR CUSTOMERS HAPPY AND LOYAL
1. OFFER WHAT YOU PROMISE
Have you ever order for a good only to get the direct opposite? Nothing hurts a customer more than that. Stay true to the vision and aim of your business and you’ll see your customers happy and ready to return next time.
If possible, offer more than what you promise. Over satisfy them till they could no longer ask for more. This is a strategy new businesses use to start building a fresh customer base.
2. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE
No matter how awesome your products are, if your customer service is poor, there are high chances that you will never see the customer again. Unless maybe you have monopoly over such a product which your target market can’t do without.
For example, the Power Holding Company of Nigeria has a very bad customer service. But no matter how bad they are, you can’t stop paying your bills. Now imagine if there is another company that offers power. They will definitely leave PHCN for the latter.
Who doesn’t love gifts? No matter how little or cheap, gifts has the magical effects whenever it’s given. However small, it speaks a thousand nice word to your customer. It shows you care about their happiness and for that act, they feel indebted to you. Patronizing your competitors will feel like a sin to them. Once your customers are happy, the probability of them becoming loyal customer becomes higher.
4. BUILD YOUR BRAND
Your aim in business shouldn’t always be to sell a commodity, it should be to build a brand that sales. Customers want to brag about their favorite brand and no matter how great your products are; they won’t refer to your business if you’re yet to work on branding. Branding is more than just having a logo, it goes way beyond that.
5. SPECIAL GREETINGS
Apart from having a good customer service, make it a duty to have some data about your customers like their phone number and email addresses. Send them bulk mails or SMS on new months. If you can get dates that are very special to them like birthdays, they will feel enlivened when they receive a personalized birthday wish from their favorite brand.
Customer is king and they determine if you succeed in business or not. Mess up and they will kick you out of the market. In this era of social media, years of hard work can crumble to the ground in a matter of minute as a result of a tweet. But if you play your ball well like an entrepreneur which you are, you’ll keep growing even when your competitors are yet to grow an inch. You have a question for me? Use the comment box.
